It was a hot, sticky day when Quilt Company East
members gathered for their fabric dyeing workshop. There was plenty of
enthusiasm and a small patch of shade as we got ready to have some fun. |
First we mixed our colors. . . |
and got ready to put the fabric in. . . |
trying the plastic baggie method. . . |
shibori wraps were popular....and much easier when a
friend helps . . . |
we dyed 27 yards of fabric and spread it everywhere to
dry . . . |
still smiling despite the heat. . . |
we got creative when it came time to overdye. . . |
and tried a couple different things. . . |
the shibori spider webs turned out well. . . |
"Cake", anyone? |
the spatter technique is a good one to try outside. . . |
a great shibori result. . . |
wonderful shibori chevron with stripes and a happy
dyer. . . |
another nice shibori spider web. . . |
some clever folding and clamping. . . |
"Thanks to the creative members of Quilt Company East
for a truly enjoyable workshop!" |
