Laura Raftery works in western Pennsylvania, Indiana to be exact which is east of Pittsburgh.  She is available to teach workshops to quilt guilds and other interested groups.

Basic Immersion Dyeing and Overdyeing: This is a workshop for people with no dyeing experience. It teaches dye bath preparation, fabric selection, and the process of dyeing a second color over another color. Participants also work with different fabric manipulation techniques to achieve different effects in the overdyeing process. Basic shibori techniques are covered in this workshop.

Advanced Dyeing Techniques: This workshop covers techniques used to enhance hand dyed fabrics. Participants try bleach discharge, discharge stamping, painting fabric with thickened dyes, and can include using a variety of water soluble resists.
