These three-hour events feature:
- the gathering, where we convene to begin our adventure
- the hike, typically two hours of active birding with a radbird guide
- the departure, camaraderie and thoughts shared by participants

Binoculars (if you have them)

Chairs, blankets for the Hawk Watch (it can be cold and we will spend several hours up there)

We base many of our day tours in Radford, Virginia, where we have four sites designated on the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.
The Hawk Migration Special begins in Floyd, Virginia, and includes a caravan up to the Rocky Knob saddleback.
